Where to Stay in Spello

There are many options for Spello accommodations, here are just a few that I know to be exceptional. Make sure you mention that I sent you! I don’t get a kick-back or anything, but it’s nice to go in with a connection.

Casa Spello is a popular option. It has a garden that looks out over the hills to Bettona and the renovation has kept the authentic charm. Casa Spello has units that can accommodate various group sizes.

Apartamenti Vallegloria features some lovely apartments. The site is in Italian, but Anja speaks perfect English (and German). IBC trivia—that’s her cat, Birbo, on the cover of my book.

In Urbe is where we always had our guests stay, as it is no-frills (read: budget conscious) and the location on Via Giulia is ideal. Make sure you ask for a room with a view.

If you are looking to splurge, Buonanotte Barbanera has some gorgeous options, including one with a pool.

If you are traveling alone or as a couple, Sognidoro is a great choice, quiet, with a wonderful view, and just steps away from the hubbub. You can see details and photos here, and book via Airbnb.

Also on airbnb, a top-notch option is Max and Cristiana’s rental which is right in the centro. Their travel service, ciaoandiamo is a great way to experience the region.

Bookings for You has a variety of possible rentals in Spello and beyond.

Il Bel Centro's own Doreen has her finger on the pulse of off-the-beaten path rentals, and you can contact her via her Facebook page.

Homeaway and vrbo also have some good options.
